Telemarketing Registration
Under Colorado law (sections 6-1-301 to 305, C.R.S.) a “commercial telephone seller” may not conduct business in this state without having registered with the Colorado Attorney General at least ten days prior to the conduct of such business. This applies to any commercial telephone seller located in Colorado and to any commercial telephone seller contacting prospective purchasers in Colorado.
To register, send the following items to the Colorado Attorney General, Consumer Protection Section, 1300 Broadway, 9th Floor, Denver, CO 80203:
- Completed Telemarketing Registration Form (PDF)
- Non-refundable registration fee in the amount of $200. Make checks payable to the “Colorado Department of Law.”
- If there is a claimed exemption from the registration requirements of the Colorado Telemarketing Fraud Prevention Act, provide a completed Telemarketing Exemption Form (PDF).
PLEASE NOTE: This procedure does NOT waive your obligation to register as a Telemarketer with the Colorado No-Call program. To complete that process, visit the Colorado No-Call website (opens in new tab).
Annual Renewal
A completed Telemarketing Registration Form (PDF) is due annually after the initial registration as well as a $100 processing fee. Email notification is sent to the contact person provided on the application.
